Application method

The surface to be covered must be free of dust, grease or any other contaminant. Some materials such as polycarbonate may cause bubbling issues. A compatibility test is therefore recommended.

Description

SOL 116, exterior solar protection for heavily exposed glazing

SOL 116 is installed on the outside face of the glass, where it acts before solar radiation enters the building. It reduces heat gain and glare in offices, shops, reception areas and other commercial buildings with strong sun exposure.

The performance data shown on the product page is clear: 86% total solar energy rejected, a solar factor g of 0.14, 14% solar transmission, 50% solar reflection and 36% solar absorption. Visible light transmission is 20%, giving the glazing a pronounced reflective silver appearance. The film also blocks 99% of UV rays to help slow fading of interior furnishings.

Installation is exclusively exterior, using soapy water, on the glazing types marked as compatible in the product table. Its scratch resistant surface helps with maintenance and the exterior warranty is 5 years. SOL 116 is well suited to energy renovation projects requiring strong solar protection without replacing the existing glazing.

Durability

Manufacturer warranty: 5 ans extérieure. Actual service life depends on exposure, glazing quality, correct installation and maintenance.

30 days after installation.

Storage

2 years from delivery. Store away from excessive humidity and sunlight, at a temperature below 38°C.
