Series P automotive tinted film
Twice as thick as Series C, significantly darker. Series P in 46 microns and 20% visible light transmission is aimed at installers whose customers want a more assertive result and greater durability. 99% UV protection, reinforced heat rejection, increased scratch resistance.
Series P: the thickness that makes the difference
46 microns: what it changes in practice
Moving from 23 to 46 microns is not just a number on a technical sheet. In the workshop, you feel it as soon as the roll is opened. The film has more body and more hold. It is handled with greater precision, positioned with better control, and once squeegeed, it gives a tighter and smoother result on the glazing. Scratch resistance is also significantly higher. A 23 micron film can mark when brushed by a fingernail or a hard object. At 46 microns, the film withstands everyday friction without flinching: raising and lowering windows, cleaning, contact with seat belts. Over time, this is a concrete argument for the customer who wants a film that stays impeccable.
20% visible light transmission: darker, more efficient
At 20%, the tint is significantly stronger than at 35%. The rear glazing takes on a dark and homogeneous appearance that gives the vehicle a more assertive look. This is the tint level chosen by customers who want a visible result and a real difference from the original glazing. The darker tint also brings a performance gain. Heat rejection is superior to that of Series C: the cabin heats up less, the air conditioning works less hard, and protection against rear glare is reinforced. For vehicles exposed to the sun all day, the comfort difference is perceptible from the very first kilometers.
A finish that enhances the vehicle
Series P delivers a premium visual result. The tint is deep, uniform and stable. On an SUV, a sedan or a minivan, the rear windows take on a mass-dyed appearance that integrates naturally with the bodywork. The result is comparable to factory-tinted glazing, at a much more accessible level. Color stability is guaranteed over time. Series P does not shift, does not fade, and retains its original tint throughout its service life. A vehicle fitted with Series P five years ago still has the same appearance as on the first day.
Installation: a film that forgives more
The 46 micron thickness requires a little more heat for shrinking on curved rear screens. The film is less flexible than Series C, which slightly lengthens the shaping time. In return, it forgives handling mistakes more easily. A thicker film is easier to reposition, tensions better during smoothing, and leaves fewer residual micro-creases. For an installer used to 23 microns, moving to 46 requires a small adaptation over the first two or three vehicles. After that, handling becomes natural and many installers end up preferring 46 for the working comfort it provides.
For which vehicles and which customers?
Series P meets the demand of customers who want to go beyond standard tint. Premium vehicles, SUVs, family minivans, executive vehicles, VTC fleets: it is the film the installer recommends when the customer asks for "darker and stronger." The price gap with Series C is absorbed by the perceived value of the result and the superior longevity of the film. It is also the right choice for installers who want to position themselves in the intermediate segment between classic tint and high-end ceramic. Series P offers an excellent quality/price/performance ratio for installers who want to move upmarket progressively.
