Solar protection - Silver points - Summer / winter special

SOL 148 solar protection film is designed to be applied to glazing to reduce heat and glare from the sun.  It is a real factor in improving comfort and saving energy in the use of air conditioning. Thanks to its micro-dot technology, it is the only film that rejects more heat in summer than in winter.

    Composition of heat protection films
Adhesive solar protection films are composed of 2 layers of polyester metallized under vacuum, an adhesive and a protective film to be removed during the installation. They are anti-scratch treated.

    Solar Factor
The solar factor (G) of a glazing is the ratio between the total energy entering a room through this glazing and the incident solar energy. This total energy is the sum of the solar energy entering by direct transmission, and the energy given up by the glazing to the interior environment, following its heating by energy absorption.

    Greenhouse effect

Solar energy entering a room through a glazing is absorbed by objects and interior walls that, by heating, re-emit thermal radiation located mainly in the far infrared (greater than . 5 μm). Glazing, even clear glazing, is virtually opaque to radiation of wavelengths greater than 5μm. The solar energy entering through the glazing is therefore trapped in the room, which tends to heat up: this is the "greenhouse effect" that can be seen, for example, in a car parked in full sunlight, windows closed.

The glass surface to be glued on has to be free from dust, grease or other contaminants. Some specific materials such as polycarbonate can cause air bubble problems. Therefore, a compatibility rest is recommended. Please refer to our prescription table or contact us for any question

Before applying to our users to ensure that the film is suitable for the intended use and comply with current standards. In order to constantly improve our production we may change a product colour and manufacturing process without prior notice.
